Privacy Policy

About this page. The policy below covers the GamesBolt Android app. The website you are reading it on collects much less — see “The website itself” immediately below.

The website itself (gamesbolt.net)

The website has no accounts, no sign-in, no favourites or watchlists, and carries no advertising. It does not sell or share personal information.

Analytics. With your consent, we use Google Analytics to count visits and see which offers people find useful. It records the pages you view, roughly how far you scroll, what you search for on this site, and clicks through to a storefront or to Google Play. It also records general technical information — browser, device type, and an approximate region derived from your IP address.

Nothing is stored until you agree. Analytics is switched off by default. A banner asks first, and if you decline, no analytics cookie is set and no data is sent. You can change your mind at any time using the Manage cookies link in the footer.

Cookies. If you accept analytics, Google Analytics sets cookies to tell repeat visits apart. If you decline, the only thing stored on your device is a small record of that decision, so we do not ask you again.

Images. Cover art is loaded directly from the storefronts’ own servers (Steam, itch.io, Fab and others). Those companies can therefore see that a browser requested an image, in the same way as any site that embeds third-party images. We do not copy their artwork onto our servers.

Leaving the site. Claiming an offer opens the storefront’s own website. Once you leave gamesbolt.net, that company’s privacy policy applies.

The website analytics report into the same Google Analytics property as the app, so app and website figures can be viewed together. Your rights, the retention periods, the international-transfer position and our contact details are all as described in the app policy below.

Privacy Policy for the GamesBolt Android app

Last updated: 10 August 2026 · Effective: 10 August 2026

This policy explains what the GamesBolt Android app (com.auragames.gamesbolt, “GamesBolt”, “the app”) collects, why it collects it, who it is shared with, and the choices you have. It is written specifically for this app rather than adapted from a template.

GamesBolt is published by Aura Games (“we”, “us”), the data controller for the information described here. You can reach us at arslan.aurasoft@gmail.com for any privacy question or request.

1. What GamesBolt does

GamesBolt lists paid video games and in-game items that are temporarily free across storefronts such as Steam, Epic Games, GOG, itch.io, Google Play and the App Store. When you claim an offer, the app opens that storefront’s own page in your browser. GamesBolt never processes payments for games and is not affiliated with any of those storefronts.

2. Information we collect

2.1 Account information

You need an account to use GamesBolt. Sign-in is handled by Firebase Authentication.

  • Email and password sign-in: we receive your email address. Your password is handled entirely by Firebase Authentication — it is never visible to us and we never store it.
  • Google sign-in: we receive your email address, your Google display name and your Google profile picture URL.
  • In both cases Firebase assigns a unique user ID that identifies your data to us.

2.2 Your activity in the app

Stored against your account so it follows you across devices:

  • Offers you mark as favourites
  • Offers you add to your watchlist
  • Offers you have claimed, the total retail value of those offers, and how many you have claimed

2.3 Usage and aggregate information

  • How many times each offer has been opened. This is a counter stored on the offer itself. It is not linked to your account or to any individual.
  • Community totals — the combined value of offers claimed by all users. These are aggregate figures only and cannot identify anyone.

2.4 Device and technical information

  • Notification token. If you allow notifications, Firebase Cloud Messaging assigns your installation a token so alerts about new or expiring offers can reach you.
  • Analytics. Firebase Analytics collects standard app usage events, an app instance identifier, and general device information (model, operating system version, language, approximate region derived from IP).
  • Advertising. Google AdMob may access your device’s advertising identifier (Android Advertising ID), IP address, and device information to select, deliver, measure and limit the frequency of ads. See section 4.

2.5 Purchases

GamesBolt offers one optional subscription, which supports development and removes all ads while it is active. Billing, renewals and cancellations are handled entirely by Google Play. We receive only confirmation that the subscription is active, so we can switch ads off. We never receive or store your card number, billing address or any other payment details.

2.6 What we never collect

GamesBolt does not collect your precise or approximate GPS location, contacts, calendar, photos, files, microphone or camera data, health data, SMS or call logs. It requests only the INTERNET, ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE and POST_NOTIFICATIONS permissions.

3. Why we use it, and our legal bases

Purpose Data used Legal basis (UK/EEA)
Create and secure your account Email, user ID, Google profile Performance of a contract
Keep favourites, watchlist and savings across devices App activity Performance of a contract
Send alerts about new or expiring offers Notification token Consent
Show which offers are popular Aggregate open counts Legitimate interests
Understand and improve the app Analytics data Legitimate interests
Show personalised advertising Advertising ID, device data Consent
Show non-personalised advertising Limited device data Legitimate interests
Provide the supporter subscription Subscription status Performance of a contract

4. Advertising and your consent

GamesBolt is free to use and is funded by advertising supplied by Google AdMob, or by the optional supporter subscription, which removes all ads while it is active. Ads appear as a banner, as cards within the feed, and occasionally when you return to the app.

Where the law requires it — including the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland — we ask for your consent before any personalised advertising, using Google’s User Messaging Platform. No ad is requested until your choice has been recorded. You can change or withdraw that choice at any time in the app under Settings → Manage ad preferences.

You can also reset or delete your advertising identifier, or opt out of ad personalisation entirely, in your device’s Settings → Privacy → Ads.

How Google handles data from apps that use its services is described at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

5. Who we share information with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the service providers that make the app work:

Provider Purpose Policy
Google — Firebase Authentication Sign-in and account security firebase.google.com/support/privacy
Google — Cloud Firestore Storing your favourites, watchlist and savings
Google — Cloud Messaging Delivering notifications
Google — Analytics for Firebase Usage measurement
Google — AdMob Advertising
Google Play Billing Processing the supporter subscription policies.google.com/privacy

Links to other companies. Claiming an offer opens a storefront’s website in your browser. Once you leave GamesBolt, that company’s own privacy policy applies. We have no control over and take no responsibility for their practices.

6. International transfers

Our service providers are operated by Google and process data on servers that may be located outside your country, including in the United States. Where data is transferred out of the UK or EEA, Google relies on the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses and equivalent safeguards.

7. How long we keep it

  • Account and activity data — kept while your account exists, and deleted when you delete your account.
  • Aggregate counters (offer opens, community totals) — kept indefinitely. These do not identify anyone and cannot be traced back to you.
  • Analytics data — retained according to Google’s Firebase Analytics retention settings.

8. Deleting your account and data

You can delete your GamesBolt account and everything associated with it at any time.

In the app: open Settings and tap Delete my account. This removes your account and your stored data immediately — there is nothing to wait for and no request to submit.

Without the app: if you have already uninstalled GamesBolt, or would rather ask us to do it, use our account deletion request form, or email arslan.aurasoft@gmail.com from the address on your account.

What we delete: your authentication record, and your stored favourites, watchlist, claimed offers and savings totals. Deleting from inside the app takes effect straight away; requests sent by form or email are actioned within 30 days and confirmed by email.

If you subscribe: deleting your account does not cancel your supporter subscription, because it is billed by Google Play against your Google account rather than your GamesBolt account. Cancel it in Google Play subscriptions before deleting, or you will continue to be charged.

What remains: anonymous aggregate counters — how many times an offer has been opened, and community savings totals — which cannot identify you or be traced back to you. Purchase records held by Google Play are retained by Google under their own policy and for tax and accounting obligations.

9. Your rights

Everyone can, at any time:

  • Turn notifications off in the device settings for GamesBolt
  • Change or withdraw ad consent in Settings → Manage ad preferences (where consent applies)
  • Reset or delete the advertising identifier in device settings
  • Sign out, or request deletion of the account as described above

UK and EEA (GDPR)

You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to our processing of your personal data, and the right to data portability. Where processing is based on consent, you can withdraw it at any time without affecting processing already carried out. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

California (CCPA/CPRA)

We do not sell personal information for money. Showing personalised advertising may be considered “sharing” for cross-context behavioural advertising under the CPRA. You can opt out by declining personalised ads in Settings → Manage ad preferences, or by enabling the opt-out in your device settings. You also have the right to know, delete and correct the personal information we hold, and not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights.

10. Children

GamesBolt is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. The app is not enrolled in Google Play’s Designed for Families programme. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

11. Security

Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) and stored in Google Cloud Firestore with access rules that restrict each user’s data to that signed-in user. Passwords are handled by Firebase Authentication and are never stored by us. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable and appropriate measures to protect your information.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app changes. The date at the top always reflects the current version, and material changes will be highlighted in the app or on this page.
